Tavolino Pizza Gourmet
J.K. Scanlan Company, LLC completed construction of the Tavolino Pizza Gourmet Restaurant located at Patriot Place Spring of 2009. Tavolino Pizza Gourmet is the sister restaurant of Sienna Restaurant located at Mashpee Commons. The project included a fit-out of an existing 6,500 s/f space into a dynamic restaurant which is one of the main dining venues at Patriot Place. The architectural décor of the space includes numerous designer finishes, one of which is the custom ceramic mosaic tile flooring which features a brilliant circle pattern in the dining room. This mosaic floor was hand crafted to simulate a mosaic floor from old-world Italy. Another focal point of the restaurant is the decorative custom ribbon soffit feature that encircles the ceiling above the bar and pizza bar. The ribbon soffit features LED lighting which changes colors to provide a beautiful back-drop for the space.
Of course, the heart of any restaurant is the kitchen, and Tavolino Restaurant does not disappoint, featuring the latest equipment in food preparation technology. The restaurant is well known for its brick oven pizza, and in fact the ovens themselves are a focal point of the restaurant, featuring a custom tile finish which compliment the décor of the space. All mechanical and electrical systems which are required in a restaurant space needed to be implemented within the fit-out, including custom kitchen hoods and welded exhaust duct for cooking lines, grease waste systems, as well as all refrigeration systems including walk-in coolers and freezers. The restaurant also features a take-out area which is separate from the main dining area and allows many of the patrons and business personnel at Patriot Place to place orders for pick-up. The project also included renovations of the exterior of the building; the premier feature is the tower at the main entrance. The tower was constructed around the existing exterior facade, and displays beautiful custom glass fiber reinforced concrete panels, a brick veneer with cast stone moldings, beautifully finished mahogany siding and trim, and custom metal panels which makes the restaurant stand-out. The LED lighting which shines up at the standing seam metal roof makes the restaurant visible from Gillette Stadium.
