Academic Portfolio Highlights 2024
With the back-to-school season already here, Dellbrook|JKS is proud to showcase our role in constructing and renovating key educational facilities across New England. It is our pleasure to be involved in building spaces that will better serve learners, educators, and academic staff, ensuring that these institutions are equipped to meet their evolving needs and those of their communities.
Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology's New Roxbury Campus
Our joint venture with One Way Development, Dellbrook One Way, is beginning foundational work on the new Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology campus in Roxbury, with pile driving currently underway. This project, spanning 65,000 square feet, represents an exciting milestone in the school's mission to expand its offerings in technical education. The campus features state-of-the-art classrooms, workshops, and collaborative spaces designed to foster innovation and hands-on learning. This cutting-edge facility will further foster technical education in Boston, equipped to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
Wellesley College's Tower Court
Dellbrook|JKS is completing the historic renovation of Wellesley College’s Tower Court, featuring comprehensive upgrades to the building’s MEP infrastructure, exterior façade and roofing, and interior spaces that modernize the living and communal areas while preserving the building’s historic character. We upgraded dorm rooms, lounges, bathrooms, kitchenettes, and Tower Court’s charming great hall.
Wheeler School Farm Campus Additions
In Seekonk, Dellbrook|JKS is excited to be working with the Wheeler School on significant campus enhancements, including the construction of a new two-story early-education building, named the Nest, and an outdoor pool complex. The outdoor pool complex will feature two pools: a splash pad for younger children and a 6-lane lap pool covered by an air dome. A pool house, positioned between the two swimming areas, will include bathrooms, changing rooms, storage, and equipment rooms, all designed to mirror The Nest’s eco-themed interior finishes. This project will enable the Wheeler School to enhance its summer camp programs and provide a dedicated space for its swim team functions.
NorthStar Early Learning Academy
In New Bedford, Dellbrook|JKS is constructing the NorthStar Early Learning Academy, a new two-story building, designed to expand the school’s enrollment capacity. The two-story facility will provide young learners in the region with a welcoming and nurturing educational environment, with classrooms designed to support a variety of teaching styles and activities. Currently, the structure is receiving drywall on its interior and preparing for a durable façade on its exterior.
Dexter Southfield's Training Center
This year, Dexter Southfield in Brookline has an extra athletic space to support its robust sports programs, with the recent completion of a Training Center! This facility provides an all-weather practice space, equipped with a high-performance synthetic turf field, changing rooms, and back-of-house spaces, that the school’s teams can utilize year-round.
A few months prior to this campus addition, Dellbrook|JKS completed work on the Clay Center, renovating the building’s dining facility and constructing a vertical expansion above, housing new classrooms, offices, and collaborative spaces.
More than just a portfolio of our 2024 academic work, these projects represent a multitude of investments being made to better support future generations across New England and it’s our privilege to bring them to life.
