DWC Awards Women in Construction
QUINCY— On December 8th, the Dellbrook|JKS Women's Collaborative (DWC) held its annual DWC Awards Ceremony, an employee recognition program for women in construction, with four award categories.
Beginning in 2020 to cultivate a supportive environment for the firm’s female professionals, the DWC frequently participates in recurring meetings, educational seminars, volunteering, networking, and other events. Dellbrook|JKS' Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Sheryce Hearns hosts the ceremony which reflects upon and celebrates the past year.
“The DWC Awards affirm that our ladies are appreciated at Dellbrook|JKS and in a male-dominated industry," said Sheryce. "Recognizing success in a field where women are underrepresented or often challenged by gender bias provides an opportunity to share encouragement and the reassurance that hard work does not go unnoticed."
Sheryce, who also created and oversees the DWC, determines each awardee based on criteria such as professional development, personal growth, involvement, leadership, dedication to teamwork, and more. The only award with an external deciding factor is the People’s Choice, which requires the DWC to nominate an individual.
Congratulations to the DWC Award Recipients: Helping Hand Awardee Emma Barrett, SuperStar Awardee Cathy Urban, Show Up & Show Out Awardee Vera Zorkina, and the People’s Choice Awardee Carolyn Kimball!
