Topping Off Ceremony Marks Major Construction Milestone at 197 Union Square Condominium Project
Somerville, MA, November 11, 2015 – Yesterday, a “topping off” ceremony was held symbolizing the placement of the final beam to close in the 197 Union Square Condominium project in Somerville, MA.
Michael Glavin, Executive Director of City Hall Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development, Jim Goldenberg, principal and founder of developer Cathartes, Head of the Somerville Chamber of Commerce Steve Mackey, and invited guests autographed the final beam including Construction Manager, Dellbrook Construction/JK Scanlan Company, Architect, EMBARC Studio, Landscape Architect Terraink and Civil Engineer, Design Consultants, Inc.
The $7.8M, project includes 30 one and two-bedroom luxury condominiums in a new elevatored building with covered and noncovered parking, as well as a secure access system. There is 3700 SF of retail space on the ground floor.
The luxury condos will offer open floor plans, large windows designed and constructed to fully reflect the energy and style of the urban landscape. Units will feature wide plank hardwood flooring, gas stoves, shaker style wood cabinetry, Caesarstone quartz countertops, subway and tile backsplash in kitchens. Master Bathrooms will include tile flooring, enclosed glass shower doors, double vanities in the 2 bedroom masters, soaking tubs and high end plumbing and lighting fixtures.
