Barbey Family Welcome Center
As the largest cultural attraction on Cape Cod, the new Barbey Family Welcome Center will enhance the visitor experience of the 130,000+ annual guests at Heritage Museums and Gardens. This project involves the construction of three, state-of-the-art, 10,129 SF steel-framed, 2-story structures that contains visitor orientation spaces, ticketing services, a gift shop, a boardroom, offices, and support areas. The center's exterior design will include an inviting outdoor courtyard with a garden shop, scenic overlooks, and seating areas. Additionally, various site improvements will be implemented to offer unique amenities to visitors. Preparation for these exciting changes consisted of demolition and a minimal amount of abatement.
Sustainability is a focus at the Barbey Family Welcome Center, with the incorporation of renewable energy and eco-friendly design elements such as the salvaging of wood materials for shelving and the new ticket counter. Heritage Museums & Gardens, renowned for its captivating museum exhibits and sprawling 100-acre gardens, outdoor discovery zones, and horticultural collections, will be better equipped to accommodate the growing number of guests with the reimagined center.
