The Orleans Pennrose-Cape Cod Five project consists of the adaptive re-use renovation of a former bank headquarters building, originally constructed in 1978 as well as new wood framed addition to create 62 family rental units. The 38,000 SF renovation will be combined with a 30,800 SF, new construction three story wood framed addition, and two separate 3 story townhouse buildings. Exteriors include various types of Artisan and Allura fiber cement siding, standard vinyl windows, continuous wall insulation for new construction, and continuous interior insulation added for existing construction. Roofing includes both laminated AR asphalt shingles and 60 mil membrane roofing. Heating and cooling of units will be Air Source Heat pumps with individual interior and outdoor units. Apartment units will have individual electric hot water heaters. The project will provide 62 family rental units, including 52 affordable units and 10 workforce apartments for families with higher incomes.
