The Cape Cod Surgery Center was an existing medical office building on Rt. 28 in Mashpee. Cape Cod Healthcare purchased the facility and did a complete HVAC system overhaul in order to meet all of the most recent codes for the Department of Health. The tight schedule of the project made for a challenge due to lead times of all equipment and materials. The structure originally had two separate facilities, one for a physician and one for surgical procedures. Other upgrades include new millwork, flooring throughout the space, and updating all telecom throughout the building to meet Cape Cod Healthcare requirements. There are future talks about the expansion of the staff support area under the surgery side in order to accommodate more patients.
