Dining Facility
Our work on the Clay Center Dining Hall involved the construction of a new steel framed addition, with terracotta siding, and renovations to the existing facility at Dexter Southfield School. Phase 1 of work occurred over the summer, and consisted of expanding the facility to 11,130 SF by enclosing the existing patio space with a new 3,900 SF, 1-story building. Because Dexter Southfield plans to build a 2nd level on this addition in the future, thoughtful design choices have been made to ensure the structure can support another floor.
To entirely refresh the Dining Facility new finishes were applied to the existing space including flooring, acoustical ceilings, painting, and light fixtures. Earthwork/sitework, landscaping/hardscaping, D/F/H, storefront, and design-build MEP’s with sprinkler and HVAC were also completed. Phase 2 further improved the facility’s functioning and aesthetics with the creation of a new exterior patio space. Through both phases, the Dellbrook|JKS team and its partners performed construction on an active campus.
