The Sturgis Charter Public School project in Hyannis consisted of the modular construction of 51,600 square feet over 3 floors. The project included overseeing manufacturing, site assembly/installation, and all services to complete and deliver the modular structure and all related systems, utilities, site work and landscaping. The school building features 20 classrooms, five science labs, and specialty rooms for art, theater, music and fitness. At the end of each hallway are locker pods, which allow for additional student gathering space. The exterior of the building features finishes that mimic a wave-like pattern as a nod to the sea and sand of Cape Cod’s shoreline. The L-shaped building surrounds a courtyard patio which opens to the grounds beyond and serves as additional gathering space for the school community. Site work had some additional complexities due to the presence of wetlands.
