The Adams House
The Adams House originated as a senior care community built in 1891. The renovation project consisted of selective demolition, remediation and full renovation of the 5 story, 42,000 SF building meeting state historical requirements. The building was renovated to construct 34 market rate apartments. The brick exterior was refurbished and the building access was updated to meet ADA requirements. Four stories have existing wood floors which were sanded and stained for reuse. The 5th story attic was reconfigured with new dormers for increased ceiling height.
The emergency egress stairs was added from the 4th floor to the 5th floor. All of the windows were replaced to meet today’s energy code requirements. New Fire protection, Plumbing and HVAC Systems with ductless mini split systems were installed in each unit. New utilities were brought in from the street including a 6” sewer line and a primary electrical service. New site grading, site lighting, parking and drainage was installed.
