Wheeler School Campus Additions
Dellbrook|JKS is collaborating with the Wheeler School on additions to its 120-acre Farm Campus in Seekonk. The project includes a two buildings for The Nest at Wheeler to call home and a new aquatic center. The 8,400 sqft combined, wood-framed Nest buildings will serve as a nature-based early education center, featuring outdoor-inspired interior finishes, like exposed wood and stone tile flooring, along with an exterior façade comprised of AVB and cedar siding. Our team will complete extensive site improvements to ready the surrounding area for a boardwalk and landscaping that accommodates the Wheeler School’s outside activities.
Two pools comprise the aquatic center, with a splash pad for younger children, designed to look like a naturally formed body of water, and 8-lane lap pool with an air dome above. A pool-house, complete with bathrooms, changing rooms, pool storage, and equipment rooms, will be constructed adjacent to the two swimming spaces, mimicking The Nest’s eco-themed interior finishes. The structure’s exterior will be made of exposed glulam framing with LGMF infill, and stone cladding. These exciting campus updates will expand the school’s summer camp offerings, provide a specific place for The Nest program and give students the year-round ability to swim
