The Dellbrook | JKS Team is excited to have worked alongside Nantucket Island Resort yet again on the campus of White Elephant Hotel on Nantucket. Construction on the renovations at the White Elephant Ballroom and Trash Building Addition is our second project inside this building for Nantucket Island Resort within the past five years. The last project is just adjacent to the ballroom space. The 8,431 SF renovations include a complete demolition of the interior finishes, partitions, structural framing, and concrete work. Demolition revealed many hidden structural challenges as expected with a historical building. Given the tight schedule, the project team needed to quickly come to resolutions on these design conflicts.

Renovations included demolition of interior finishes, partitions and structures, and installation of new partitions, floors, ceilings, doors & windows, fixtures, structures, MEP, fire protections, FF&E and finishes. Renovations also included repairs to roofs and dormers. The new space received a commercial grade kitchen with associated MEP, new function spaces, boardroom, fitness center, public restrooms, back of house corridors and support spaces. A new wood framed trash building, exterior sidewalks, pavers and other site work were also completed as part of the scope of work.
