Nantucket Golf Club Maintenance Facility
The Nantucket Golf Club Maintenance Facility was redeveloped to include a new free standing cold storage building and additions to their existing office and repair shops. A 3,240 SF new cold storage facility was built central to all the other buildings and is lined with ten overhead doors to allow constant access for golf carts and maintenance machinery. The addition to the existing office and repair shop increased the size to 4,344 SF, giving them added conference space, offices, toilet rooms. More importantly, the repair shop space was greatly increased both in width and height and opened up with new overhead doors and a new grinding/equipment room.
Both building were designed and constructed simply as single story wood framed structures. The cold storage building was left as an unfinished space, while the office/repair shop was to be functional. A majority of the repair shop and office area was finished with epoxy/acrylic finished concrete. In the office/kitchen space new millwork was added and finish trim. The exterior of these building were constructed to match all existing buildings in the Nantucket Golf fashion of shingles and green accents.
With the redevelopment of this site, there was much exterior site work that took place. The most challenging part was getting this exterior work done between golf seasons which meant dealing with the winter months. A new duel wash down and fuel pad was installed adjacent to the site. This pad involved much coordination with the owners’ vendor and bring underground utilities to complete this connection. This was wrapped up with final paving of the entire site and concrete sidewalks.
