St. Luke’s Hospital Rapid Assessment Zone Renovation
The St. Luke’s RAZ (Rapid Assessment Zone) Renovation project is a Four phased, occupied renovation of approximately 8,200 SF of existing space on the First Floor in the current Emergency Department at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA.
Phase 1 involved moving the Temporary Fast Track area in an adjacent suite that was vacant and used for clinical space. Patients were greeted at the Reception Desk and escorted to the main ED or walked to the Temp Fast Track for treatment.
In Phase 2 the existing Waiting Room, five (5) Fast Track Exam spaces, the Staff Station, Medication Room, Soiled Room, and Clean Storage Closet were constructed. Patients used the Reception desk and access to the main ED. A Patient Waiting area for the main ED was located in the original Supplemental Waiting area, and Fast Track Waiting area.
Phase 3 relocated staff from the Temp Fast Track area to the new Fast Track area. During construction a safe, secure barrier between patient care areas and construction zones were carefully maintained.
Phase 4 consisted of moving the Reception and Security to their new locations, and renovations to the Vestibule and Waiting Rooms, and final two (2) Exam spaces was completed.
