The centerpiece of historic Main Street in Falmouth, the library maintains its 1901 design and appeal on the exterior while the décor on the interior has ornate woodworking and plaster mixed with the latest in computer and multimedia technology. The project consisted of renovating 31,000 square feet of a historic structure that was added to over the years with two subsequent additions in 1966 and 1977. The design of the new Falmouth Public Library also included a new 8,000 square foot addition to the west side of the building. Designed to meet the twenty year need, the spacious expanded library serves as a focus for this growing community.
