Nantucket Airport Fire Fighting Rescue Building
The state of the art Nantucket Airport Rescue Firefighting Building was completed by Dellbrook | JKS in May, 2011. The project consisted of a 10,642 pre-engineered metal building with a three bay structure which house’s the airport’s firefighting and rescue apparatus and operations/ firefighting personnel. The upgrade to a first class FBO (fixed base operator) provides better service to General Aviation traffic. There are foam and water fill stations to accommodate the firefighting equipment as well as an SCBA fill station. The position and layout of the building is such that the on-watch personnel have a full view of the runways at all times, increasing airport safety.
