Water Mill Apartments
Water Mill Apartments project was a historical renovation / conversion of a 5 story mill building (circa 1893) into 40 residential subsidized apartments including 1, 2 3 and 4 bedroom units. The renovation required extensive structural repairs and upgrades as well as miscellaneous abatement. Interior surfaces were sandblasted and left exposed in many areas to maintain the look of the old mill building. Site work included the creation of a parking lot adjacent to the mill building which required substantial retaining walls as well as the demolition and abatement of an old gas station across the street for the creation of additional parking. New stairwells and a new elevator were also incorporated into the construction creating a fully accessible building. A two story community room and Community development office were also created. The value of this project is just over $9M and took approximately twelve months to complete, more than 2 months ahead of schedule.
The Water Mill Apartments project achieved LEED Silver Certification.
