Change Order Management
One of the critical tasks on any construction project is managing potential change orders from subcontractors and vendors. Extensive review of plans and specifications in the preconstruction phase are essential for ultimately reducing any potential change orders. Our project management team understands the importance of implementing a system to prepare, review and process change orders. We do not take a “plans and specs” perspective, rather we ensure that all changes are analyzed to determine whether they were part of the original scope of work or were a reasonably inferable part of the trade agreement. Our project manager will develop internal quantity takeoffs and pricing to ensure proper reasonable value for a change that is determined to be credible or where the owner has requested a change of scope. In addition, our project management team will review requests for changes, submit recommendations to the owner and the architect/engineer, and assist in negotiating change orders.
